I made this one (after). I thought I was copying it from a TBer, but discovered on ebay it's like a Hamer Cruise Bass.

I feel so inadequate around you guys. I need to go out, buy some tools and start making my own stuff instead of supporting the economy through GC and musiciansfriend.
A coping saw for most of the cutting; assorted files and blocks with sandpaper for smoothing. I use a drill press with a countersink for the pickguard screw holes; it's nice to be able to set the depth, but it can be done without a drill press.
When you cut the stuff, clamp it between a couple of boards so it won't flop around.
