Well, it's kind of logical why that is. Match aging/shrinking/thin nitro finishes with the bass that was most played during the 50's-60's and it's understandable that most of the road-warriors posted here are Fenders. It also explains the allure of distressed finishes as story-vessels and also beautiful and rare objects of art. They might have all rolled out of Fullerton with the expressed goal of looking exactly the same - but after years of service, just like the musician that played them they each become unique individual entities.

i like all thoss distressed finish basses!
this is my slightly distressed from heavy usage, 94 warwick streamer 5 bolt on. converted to fretless but the light relic made from the years..

Nice Warwick, tomersg. I love seeing higher-end, boutique basses that are worn. Eddie Jackson's beat up Spector NS-2 comes to mind.

Where did you find this pic? It is my '66! And this pic shows it with the bridge that left upper eye-hole traces (not screwed in as you can see) that was further replaced for the 70's bent-plate bridge that was on it when I bought it! I'm going to guess it was a random find - but if you have any details about the pic please let me know!

It's like a ghost that keeps appearing from the past with a cheshire-cat smile!
