My '82 Precision Special has seen a lot of playtime. I had a blue one back in the 80's which I gigged a ton and beat up really bad. I picked this one up about 20 years ago. It already had a fair amount of wear as it was the house bass in a recording studio here for the first 20 years of its life. But no major dents, and the extra-chunky neck is still in great condition.

Possibly the most distressed ever...but not a 68. It's got the 1970+ pickup spacing. I remember seeing this on the Verb, it's still up, and the photo of the neck pocket has two names stamped in it a la post-1970, the neck date stamp is almost unreadable but looks suspiciously like 72, the one pickup photo has no date stamp at all (or been worn off) on the bottom of the grey bobbin, and the pic of the pots make it impossible to discern the manufacturing codes on them - so probably the only thing 1968 on it is the neck plate. Asking price is around right for a genuine 68 but way too high for a post 1970.

Yes, it's a 69! That aged Sonic Blue with the worn spots on the arm rest is perfection!
