Reminded me of these pics of Bob Weston's (Shellac)Travis Bean from the book INSTRUMENT - photographs by Pat Graham, forward by Johnny Marr, Chronicle Books 2011 - over 100 pics of famous players road-worn guitars, basses and synths. Of course Nels Cline's '59 black Jazzmaster is included.

I saw a very road-worn P-bass at a guitar show many years ago that the backside looked like it was held up as a shield against a bear attack! I figure it must have been a big western belt buckle from the looks of it! :woot:

I’ll have to find a copy of that book. Sounds like it would be right up my alley. In regards to the bass you posted, it looks like someone really logged in the hours on that one.

On another note, I found this one on IG. This is one of Craig Setari's basses. It is also well played!
