This is an instance where 'liking' it is more of an appreciation of the post - what these images mean/meant (to you) looking at it. (not exactly 'liking' what I see if you catch my drift...) I had seen this right after you first posted it a while back and then and now feel for you. The reason I like distressed basses is because the wear tells a story of many gigs and/or an intimate relationship with their owners. This one tells a sad story - but as no one was hurt in the fire (as I recall) it is a unique and beautiful artifact of that momentous day. It's in its own category - a ghost of a memory. Thanks for posting.

I used one of those in highschool with an early V4B. I had a Vantage bass that had two of those old white Dimarzio p-bass pickups. It was memorable. Very big, 810-ish.

The antithesis of this thread - but after posting the lovely worn Oly white '66 J - check this pristine time capsule out. I don't have this sort of 'expendable income' but it's selling for a fair price all-things-considered.

I would love to own one of these distressed finished vintage jazz basses! Saw a Bravewood replica the other day and a MJT, both looked great! I am on the hunt.....:)
