SHOW YOUR DISTRESSED FINISHES!

Well spotted !!!

Thanks!

I was bored and decided to go through all 62 pages of this wonderful thread and came across @JIO's eBay link and thought the wear patterns and faded pickguard were similar to Guy Pratt's. And I was right.

There's also a saddening amount of broken links and pictures that are no longer there :( too bad. I also saved a few dozen of my favourite looking basses.

Love MOST OF the basses..
Dont love all the small talk between the basses. Sorry. Thos thread coulda been 1/4 the size if we stuck to just posting pics and descrips. (No offense) & more than half of pics are gone i. 2016..be cool if somehow this could be avoided. I missed hailf or kore of the subject matter.

Here's a solution- do a google image search for "road worn basses." This is a bass discussion forum. It's what we do.

Sorry, my bad. I thought it read 'show you roadworn basses'.. i must have posted in the 'discuss road worn basses'
Again, my apologies good sir.

Hi - this is a thread that I started now three years ago. I feel my title is accurate and decidedly inclusive. In general, when someone shows something special, something specific and related to the craft/art we all enjoy and participate in (playing a musical instrument, specifically but not exclusively a bass guitar) a response/reply (what you consider small talk) is a welcomed result. I made it very clear in my opening statement of my intent - which is to celebrate these worn and well-played instruments. If you are not personally happy with its course (which I enjoy and approve of its related tangents as OP) - please do those who actively participate with positive intentions a favor and visit another thread as there are many and varied on tb. And as far as missing posts are concerned, this is what happens, something that no one on tb has control over - you've been on tb long enough to know this. And FTR - snark is not appreciated here.

I refinished the P bass in nitro Fender green and then aged the body...cheating a bit but I know. The Jazz is honest mojo for sure!

Is that the cold-to-hot technique that checks the paint like that? In the pics it looks like Lake Placid Blue. (Fender green?) And FTR, rather 'effecting' than 'cheating'… ;) remember, we try to derail the "undeserved fake mojo" bias here! :) (as in - beauty is to the beholder etc)
