I received this renecked 78 Jazz in distress: someone thought painting how groovy and funky they felt on it would somehow enhance the bass. I did my best to remove the sins, now left with a great playing and sounding ash jazz with plenty of mojo

Honestly, yes. After I threw up on my shoes I realized I could now take it out of the house and put some miles on it. I've got many with a ding or three and a white RW Dirnt Precision and RW Flea Jazz but this was the one I handled like a human baby...time for it to grow up

Haven't had one in my hands but the RW series including this flagship model have consistantly gotten good reviews. If I owned one of these I'd go one step forward and add the mute & bridge cover holes, (distressed of course) and add the exposed ground strip. Would also booger-up the tr access area on the pg (as they all were) - plenty of reference pics on this thread to work from!

Haven't had one in my hands but the RW series including this flagship model have consistantly gotten good reviews. Here's one that I'm almost finished building. I shot it in seafoam green nitrocellulose lacquer, aged and yellow the finish naturally, lacquer checked, and she's almost ready to go! Just have a few final touches to put on her.

Surely you jest. The availability of a '66 P is more common than some years possibly - but a bass that looks, plays and sounds like this? I have a touring musician friend who has a sweet '64 which he loves, but when he played this one he was blown away.

Oh yah - forgot about the tug-bar! Mine has 'wavy' sides (hard to photograph), a curvy top and is worn very shiny. For authentic relic-ing I can imagine using a hair dryer on (a new plastic) one and screw it down while hot to distort it.

Actually these particular sunburst's were somewhat different and for only a brief time - as in, spraying a homoginizing opaque base coat. Gives these late 60's bases that very 'yellow' center with no wood grain showing.
