May have posted these somewhere in talkbass land. The burst is a 65. The white is a MIJ with model j’s and the natural has bartolini’s and an audere pre.

:) Thanks! Very nice basses - the natural one is cool how once the clear-coat was worn the raw wood took on the dark patina. :cool: Did you put all the wear on them?

I did not put on all the wear as I’ve owned these for only a decade. Most of the wear on the 65 came from a tour I did a few years ago through both hell and high water:)

That's honest player wear and thank you for participating with your own bass as an example. :thumbsup: I welcome all versions of distressing/player wear from the most extreme examples to the most subtle! I personally smile when I see a ding or worn spot on my basses - so much easier on ones attitude than blowing a fuse.

@kazuhank nice to see, but only one thing distresses me. Great to see wear on the neck near the headstock, but what on earth are you doing so high to wear it near the neck join?! Did you lend it to a guitarist?!

Maybe it’s just me who loves the low end and doesn’t pass the 5th fret

The cliche is "the cash register" for the 1st number of positions and everything above that is considered "lead bass" ... if the player has depth - I say go for it! :bassist:

Shhh...don't tell anyone on here, but I play guitar as well.

I'm about as meat and potatoes as they come, but every now and again I click on a chorus pedal and start wandering around up there. Never to the 20th fret, though, I don't want to lose any of my gigs.

Had a strat that could have been it's twin and a trans red Precision that was going down that road. There were a few years right after the EPA crackdown where the new friendly finish wasn't perfected and was prone to that checking and discoloration. I've seen some that just looked like a dried up lake bed where finish was lifting around the cracks like dried mud.
