Yeah,I'm not a big fan of the jazz bass....I just have to keep building/buying them untill I find the one I like.

Those basses are amazing! I have recently fell in love with jazz basses, and that one second from the left in the back is amazing! Great group of basses. I am thinking of building something similar to that but with black hardware instead of gold and a gold rush pickguard

wow, thats great! probably one of my favourite basses of all time. I"m going to go mighty mite, and hopefully it turns out somewhat like that beauty. you have great taste in basses!

Here's probably more details then you want...
It's my 5th Acoustic bass, and I think it's a keeper.
(Maybe it's time to take the sticker off too.)I haven't even plugged it in yet, so no sound clips. Sorry. But I can tell you that it is quite impressive.
My favorite parts about it are:
1. Jazz neck (of course!). It's fairly slim like the Geddy Lee jazz bass neck.
2. Lowest action of any bass (acoustic or electric) I've ever played. No fret buzz at all either.
3. The body design is smart. It gets gradually slimmer by the neck. Just under 5" wide at the bridge, and about 4" wide where the body meets the neck. Better comfort.
4. I always used my previous acoustic basses as "warm up" instruments because they always took more effort to play. Not the case with this one though. Plays as easy, if not easier, as any electric bass.
Cons: It does neck dive with a strap, but I usually just use it sitting down anyway.
Thank you. That's a '96 Fender "The Ventures" model. Changed pickguard and control plate though.
My choice would be abalone
Mine would be abalone too, but I have to have it specially made if I get one. Nobody makes one to fit. So it was just easier to do something to the stock pickguard. I'll probably end up getting one made one of these days when I get some extra cash.

Thx bro, I had it cut by pickguard heaven (http://www.pickguards.us) they did a great job, but it took like 4 weeks, then i had to drill an extra hole in it because the preamp has an additional pickup selector switch. I wanted to make sure i didn't make any changes to the bass i couldn't reverse back to stock, so i have all the original parts stored in a box
Edit: Also my camera isn't the greatest nor was the lighting so the pickguard looks a LOT darker in the pictures.
