Buried in my closet in a gig bag I thought was empty all this time. Glad to see I didn't sell this one, it's super light & fun as hell to play!

That's the Jazz Bass Special, isn't it? I had a silver one back in the late 80s.

Well it does say that on the headstock, but they called them Boxer. No idea why, crazy Japanese. This is a very confused bass! LOL Yes a Jazz neck and says Jazz Bass Special, yet it's a P-Bass body. I think that's why they just called it a Boxer. Typically Fenders are either Jazz or P-Bass based on the body.

That's why it's "special": it doesn't know if it's a J or a P! :D

Oddly enough, even though I've been familiar with these for 25 years or more, I've never heard them called "Boxer" until very recently here on TB. I've always just known them as a Jazz Bass Special.
