When I picked up this Squier CV 60's P bass 3 weeks ago, it had round wounds and frets, but I had other plans for it. Now it's sporting an Allparts Ebony neck with Gotoh lollipops and TI Jazz flats. OK I paid more for the neck than I did for the bass, but I really wanted a project and now I've got a sweet fretless for under $600 all in. This is my first 34" fretless, It's amazing how much faster you can move your fingers without the speed bumps.

Here is the new addition with the rest of it's fretless family.

A ¾ size Mathias Thoma and a short scale Applause AEB. The are the basses that get gigged. Not in the picture is my DeArmond Ashbory. While it's fun to noodle with I haven't found an appropriate band for it.

Today there was a post about "less is more" and Pino's name came up. It got me thinking about how he USED to play fretless with such inspiration and originality. It made me break out my 1995 SR5 fretless, clean it up and put on a new set of strings. I played it for at least an hour. I had forgotten just how much fun this bass is to play.

apologies for the crappy cell phone pic
Thanks, I have one of these also. (´93) You just inspired me to take it out and play it again.
