Show Your Fretless

Had an opportunity to play one at the store one day, it felt great! Maybe I will get it one of those days :)
How do you like it?
It plays insanely well, which is important to me as primarily an electric player. If I had to deal with an actual doghouse again, it'd be far more difficult to deal with... both physically as well as logistically.

I just noticed how close to the neck that Jazz type pickup is. I’m guessing that sounds different than a Jazz type neck pickup placed in the more usual location?
Yes, it sounds pretty different from the normal Jazz neck (middle) pickup location. My idea for this bass was to have a Music Man pickup in the sweet spot, and a J pickup at the base of the neck, like a RIC neck pickup. I have rounds on this bass and usually run the bridge pickup full on, and mainly use the neck pickup to add depth/warmth. I think it sounds really nice. But I bet with the right setup and right technique, and maybe flats instead of rounds, the neck pickup solo'd could mimic a bit of a upright tone. That's something for me to toy with in the future.
