Believe it or not, this is actually a maple board. It is both flamed and heavily spalted, and it has been acrylicized for stability.
My Celinder J-Update 4 and J-Update 5 have some really nice birdseye maple boards (and necks).
My F Bass BN5 has some killer birdseye maple, as well.
And the birdseye/figuring on my BN4 is really off the hook!
Here a couple of nice maple-board Fenders.
All three of my ATK's have nice maple boards, especially the flamed maple on the two USA Custom models.
This Lakland Skyline DJ4 is the bass that I keep coming back to (literally! I have traded it away and back twice, but it won't happen a 3rd time!).
My Skyline JO4 has a nice maple board, too.
These two LeCompte's both have flamed maple boards, with ebony binding.

Carey really outdid himself with the birdseye maple board on the vJ5 on the left.
I love what the maple board adds to this Rumblefish XL.
My Skjold Lion's Pride (Model A) has a super nice figured/maple board, but I still haven't really captured it in a photo yet.
