I only buy basses nowadays to take them apart and put them back together again. It's a fun hobby!

It seems to shift the mid frequency. This has an 18v active pickup, the rotary knob, the switch that seems to bypass that knob, and vol/tone. It's like a super simple layout that looks incredibly complicated from the inside.
I swear, you weren't allowed to make a recording in the 80s without an Aria Pro SB1000!

That Edwards is interesting. It's exactly like the ESP Tetsuya sig model. now its got a different headstock and the Lakland name on it. And gold hardware.

The stand alone is an Aria model 1930 made in Japan in 1970.
On the other pic :
- 1st on the left is a Riviera made in Japan in 1966.
- 2nd on the left is an Owen made in Japan in 1967.
- 3rd one is a Kent made in Japan in 1967.
- 4th one is a Kingston made in Japan in 1966.
Them last 4 basses were bought in a lot from an old music store
that went bankrupt earlier this year in Quebec, they gave me
the original order bill !!! Got all 4 for $ 325CDN.
The Aria was bought last week for $ 250CDN 'cause I fell in love with the scroll headstock.
My '87 and '91 SR800's. Kind of vanilla looking compared to most of the basses in this thread, but I love 'em anyway.

My first and still primary bass is a 35 y.o. Japanese Fender copy - an Aspen.
Phat Dawg here in Berkeley sold it to me for $200. It's got one buzzy fret but otherwise feels and sounds great - to me. (I have deliberately avoided fancy basses to remain easy to please. Still love my huge cube lo-def TV, too.)
