Show Your Love For 15's - Post Those Cab Pics!

i was doing a bit of tube rolling with my STM900 today thru the 2x15 and i've settled on a NOS '63 Mullard ECC83 in V1 and two NOS RCA 7025's in V2 and V3. this tube compliment seems to take away alittle of the upper mid 'clank' that was bothering me in the streamliner thru all of my cabs. IMO, man, those old RCA's are hard to beat.

I know what you mean. I'm more than happy with the RCA 7571's I've just put in my preamp. Fantastic. Actually beat out the Mullard 12AX7's I have along with a few other of the classics. I know that the conventional wisdom is the Mullards are like platinum coated gold, but I've found that depending on the amp, they may not be a great fit and can get 'honky'.

Just loaded my Krossroad 1x15 cab with a JBL K140. Gold tuck n roll!

I bought this amp in 2001 when I stated playing again after a 15+ year layoff. I dfidnt have a lot of money and had no clue as to what was out there. This fit my price point at the time. I used this and the Ampeg Ba115 that my church had for a few years .. then in 09 when I joined a band I decided to get a real rig and used this as a practice amp. When I switched bands I left this amp over at our bandleader's house so I wouldn't have to schlepp an amp over there every week. I used my other rig at home and when we played out. I had actually forgotten I had left this over there. That's another reason why I sold my little Fender Bassman 25 that I got a few months ago for my son.. I brought this back home when we started to practice at the church again. That schmutz on top of the amp is the remains of some silly putty that my son's friend put on the amp.. at the time they both were 6 or 7(he's 14 now..) I think .. I was so pissed!! LOL .. it is funny now .. but I was heated at the time .. but it was a kid so what can you do but suck it up..

This is my current rig with the newly acquired 900 .. I just got that head yesterday and am selling my 9.0. That entire rig was bought here in the TB classifieds. That cab sounds so different with the 900 ..
