It’s actually a split coil just like a Precision only under one cover. It’s sounds great. I bought it because a bass I had made for me had one and I liked it so much I decided to put one in this bass too. I now have Nordstrands in three basses and I’m really happy with all three. Bite, punch, definition and great tone.
I’ve done the same with a bits and pieces bass I threw together, only with an MM style humbucker in the Precision location. I was always curious about how the MM pickup would sound in that spot and I’m glad to say the experiment worked to my liking. It sounds great but as you might expect due to the location, more like a Precision than a Music Man which suits me fine because I always thought the Stingray I used to have sounded too harsh.

91 Peavey Unity - 2 piece Koa

This is awesome. The first bass I pretty much learned on was an ‘88 or ‘89 Unity Koa but with 3-band preamp and black Schaller hardware. I borrowed it from my Uncle from ‘93-‘94 until I bought my Stingray. I’d love to get that Unity back in my hands…

My Dillion VMB400 with added Squier II P-bass pickup and modded wiring.
Also an Artist (local Oz importer) 5 string. The 5 string has a new pre-amp kit and Yamaha pups but the body and neck are very nice for a low cost guitar.

Dillion is a Canadian company which produces a range of good quality copies of classic guitars made in Korea.

As far as i know they are still in operation.
