LMAO...
And now you probably understand why he owns so much gear... how else can he still own that carpet? He had to pinch pennies somewhere :D

You're onto me! :p

Actually, I have decided that any form of remodeling before the kids stop trashing the house (does that ever stop?) would be an exercise in futility.

But of course, at this point, I really can't get rid of the carpet, now, can I? :p

So in having owned and used all those preamps, where would you rate the Navigator. I love mine and think its the best pre I've ever used, but I sure haven't tried the majority of the units you have in this photo? :)

The Navigator holds it own, IME/IMHO. It is certainly a Swiss army knife, and it has served me very well over many, many gigs. None of my other preamps totally blow it away, and I think that says a lot. That said, various other preamps may offer a certain vibe or mojo that makes them unique and enticing, so depending how that vibe/mojo hits you, I can certainly see someone preferring pretty much any of those other preamps to the Navigator. But again, the Nav isn't going to sound like dog doo in comparison. If you have been using a Navigator, and you are happy with it, then I would stick with it. Unless, of course, you hear something on basstasters.com, and just have to have it.... :ninja:

Tom.

P.S.
I must say, I find most of the clips on basstasters to be very accurate, but at least my particular Navigator in my particular applications always sounds better to me that that particular set of clips on basstaters. Forgive me for being too particular. :smug:

Thanks for the reply. The funny thing about the Navigator is that I have it set pretty much dead flat most of the time. I dont tweak it much at all. I did own the same Trace Pre amp that is pictured as well as a trace 210 combo with the same stainless front end that you have in your rack.

It was a great combo with lots of power but the cab rattled like crazy and I could never find the problem.

The pre was nice too but I don't like graphic eq's much anymore.
