I have that brown box on my shelf. My uncle (RIP) gave me one just like it when I was tiny. Have never, ever seen one the same ever.
Hate to burst your bubble but I got that off some guy outside a Roscoe's in LA for like $6. :D

I put my bass knick-knacks in that one. I have another one for my weed (same style but smaller and purchased 18 years earlier). ;)

They atualy are hand carved... I thought the same whe I saw a store full of them a while back... My father has had one as far as I can remeber, he bought it when he still lived in England. I asked the guy in the store, and he told me that it was a tarditional Indian (east) designe. And in the 60's-70's they imported the hell out of them to North America and the UK...

Cheers

Alex

Dave,

Nice rack! How do you like the Navigator?

OH, nice wooden box, I used to pick those up for friends each time I would go to India... I used to love the Sandalwood smell from the inside of them.
The Navigator is great!! It has about every possibly feature you could want in a pre-amp and sounds great! You can mix a solid state pre-section with a tube pre-section.

Yeah, I dig those boxes. :)

Yeah there is a local Blues Jam around here that the house bassist brings one of those, a pwramp (big QSC) and 2 410XLTs... I played through it last week. Sweet... tonnes of controls, though!

If I can afford to go back to India anytime soon, I'll start a thread about Sandal-wood boxes and who wants one... Ya know to put John Stewart's Stash in :D .

OK, finally I got to take photos of mine (had it only for a month). SansAmp RBI (with looped ETEK Dynamagic -multiband compressor- and Behringer PEQ2200 Ultra-Q Pro -5 band fully parametric EQ-) and Behringer Europower 1500. On the upper right of the picture there's my whole rig. To be complete this will also need a power conditioner, a rack tuner, a crossover and a BBE Sonic Maximizer 362NR (GASing for all of them).

Why would you ever need that many effects.

Tom Morello has about 5 pedals, and he still could do laps around what's Chris Whatshisface when it comes to effects.

The reason there are multiple units in there is because he runs three marshall DBS systems, and one of which is always pumping out his "dry" (clean) tone, and the other two are his "wet" (effects) sound.

Hope that answers your point.

Some people (mainly professionals) can charge for promoting certain products, and if they're not paid, then they have every right as the owner to NOT promote. Other players have endorsement deals for some products and lend their name to promotional materials and choose NOT to play the equipment they're endorsing, so it's in their contract to not promote gear they aren't specifically endorsing.

I'm at the stage where I want manufacturers to see that I'm pimping their gear, so that maybe I'll get an endorsement deal or some sort of kickback for putting their product name in the public eye. That's why I leave my brands uncovered...that, and I'm lazy.

...but that's Benjamin's rack, and he's covering Mesa logos. There's a longlonglong story behind that. NOMB.
