According to Harvey Gerst, the guy who designed the EQ circuits for ACC, cutting in the 320 range rduces the muddiness of the sound. And guess what, it does! At least with these high frequency challenged cabs! I boost a bit in the 125 range and a little more in the 820 range and roll the rotary bass control back a bit, and I get a pretty full sound. Unlike John Entwistle, I do not want a lot of treble in my sound. The cabs cut the highs off at just the right point for me and I get a nice, powerful sound. Very punchy, as in it literally feels like someone is punching you lightly when you stand in front of the cabs!

There is some loose insulation in the 215 and you can see it fall to the bottom of the port. Then as I play I watch the insulation move back and forth with the pumping of the cab.

interesting combination...how do you have the gk/swr all setup?

I didn't set it all up together, athough I think I could have, but people in the neighboring towns, not the mention the guitar players would have complained

We were doing a run through to prepare for playing an outdoor party, so I brought all my stiff to mix and match to see which played best together.

I liked my Jazz bass through the GK 400RB and the Eden 1x12 and SWR 2x10 cabs. The P Bass benefited from the more pronounced low end from the SWR SM-500 through the same cab combination.

For the party, I will probably go with the SWR, as it has a little more power than the GK, although not as much as you might think.

Those acoustic 301's are probably my favorite cabs ever.

Now what is really doom with them is the loadout! That's why I don't own one

Load out is no problem! They're very manageable with the handles and tilt-back casters. Just avoid stairs at all costs and choose your vehicle well.

My 'mini' rig of doom!!

I normally use a Hartke 5500, Avatar 2x10 & 1x12(seen below). The above is my new rig for smaller venues. Both 500w.

Thats really cool. I have same rig except I go 2x10s.
Can those 2 10" make it?

I finally found a pick of my LAST Ampeg rig. It is the second picture (cabinets anyway).

I bought them from Christian Woblers of Fear Factory (we rehearsed next door to each other) and used them for about
a year and a half on the road before selling them and switching to Eden.

I used the same rack rig above with these cabs (below). I had one of the II pro's running the two 410's @ 2 ohms
and the other head running the 810 @ 4 ohms.

BigMike: I know I already replied to this post in another thread, but I just wanted to add that the PR810 is sexy as all hell, and the PR410's are more of the same. Thunder that would move my bowels. Just curious, would you have these setup in a bi-ampish sort of situation? Lows to the 410's, mids and highs to the 810? Or same settings to both?

The 410's haqd more low end to them but the 810 just punched like a M'fer. I can't recall exactly how I had the EQ back then but I ran them all Full Range. No Biamping.

That was the bigger stage rig or when we were trying impress someone. Guitarist ran two Boogie full stacks on the other side and the singer/rhythm guitarist ran two Marshall 4-12's (one per side of the drum riser). Destruction!

Not for a 'loud' gig but that wasn't my intention with it. Mainly for low volume jazz or acoustic type gigs!

Hi, thread originator here again with an updated photo(not the best quality). I'm running this rig at 2400 watts stereo (1500 watts through the top 4 cabinets at 2 ohms, 900 watts through the 2 18s at 4 ohms).
