I KNEW that bass was familiar. That one originally came to my local dealer here. I just about bought it, for a mildly discounted price due to the crack, but I really wanted a 5 string instead. They sent it back to the Spector distributor after I decided not to buy it. I agree--it is hard to see unless the light hits it just right. But that is one hell of a nice playing and sounding bass. Bet it kills with the EMG preamp in it.

I wasn't impressed with the Tonepump in mine either. I opted for the Aguilar OBP-3 at 18v in my five string, but I was seriously considering ordering an EMG pre at first.

ohhh man i LOVE that green colour... is that a Euro? If it is, I wish they still made that colour.

does anybody know if the green offered on the US models is the same green as this?


I played a Rebop the other day... man it was sooooooooo nice and soooooo easy to play! wish i had the $$$ atm

Sorry I've edited my post to say if it is a Euro, I wish they still made that colour. According to the spector website the only colour the Euro's come in is natural, amber, black cherry, black stain and blue. Maybe it could be done specially? Hope so for when I get around to buy my Euro.

I don't know why I'm assuming it's a Euro either, I guess because that's what most people have - the US models are a bit out of most people's price range

Yes, this is a EURO-5. Full maple (not the laminated alder/walnut/maple) wings. I think the green stain is the same as for the US models. Yes, it is discontinued colour AFAIK, was called 'emerald green'.
You can find one on Ebay if you have keep on eye on Spectors there, I bought mine from there and since I saw at least 2 five and one 4 string emerald green Euros there. All used, they went around 800 USD, which is a nice price I think.

Mine has an Aguilar OBP by the way, which is a great mod, and also added gold knobs since the pic was taken. The two dragons are stock, though :-)

Though the question is no directed to me, I think I just share my experience with the Aguilar OBP in my Spector Euro.
I had 3 Spector EURO5's, all with stock EMG pu's, however each had different preamps. One had the EMG BQS, the other had the stock TonePump the Jade Dragon has the Aguilar OBP1. For my taste and ears the Agu is the best sounding, followed by the EMG and the least favourable is the TonePump. I had A-B tested them, so I have the experience.
Even if the OBP 1 is boost only, it makes the bass sounding 'better' without altering the sound itself.
