Show Your Spector

I am glad that you guys like my collection. I know of a few others on here who have an even more impressive collection though. But I will take the compliment just the same :)

I would really like to add a few USA's to my collection. However, it really is a matter of money. I am more than happy with the quality of the Euro basses. I have played a few USA's and they are definitely a step up in quality. But, I would probably only have 3 USA's (maybe 2 NT's and 1 BO) instead of the 6 Euro's and 1 Legend. I have more options this way and definitely don't feel like I am missing anything.

BEADGC: feel free to 'borrow' some html from my site to help make yours if you like it.

TheMajorRager: You will notice a BIG difference between the Legend and the NS5-CRFM. Are you picking up a used one? I played a Euro-4 in GC one day a few years ago to see if I would like a Spector. Each and every Spector I own I bought before playing it and I've kept every one.

Hey, no sweat, I practically live in my office.

Yes, the USA quality and sound is very noticable. Most notable is the playability, like butta.

Bass Central is great man. Are you sure you're getting a NS5-CRFM though? Is that new/old stock? Their not called that anymore. The new ones are all 'Euro' or 'Euro LX'

I THINK the way you can tell is that the CRFM's have a satin brass bridge, the 'Euro' (not to be confused with the fact that it's made in Europe) has a polished brass bridge. I might have to make a call to the source to confirm that though.

hello again Josh, not really sure but i think its the Euro model im getting. they had the NS5-CRFM advertised but it said "sold - similar model available" so i asked them and they said the new model has the tone pump pre instead of the aguilar so i guess it will be a euro - but its still a good price regardless? :hyper:
ps. heres something that will make you laugh (even if its completely unrelated):

Like Josh said. The main difference between the US and Czech stuff are the necks. BIG difference. I have a few BO's and they just have a different feel, the Czechs are like MARGARINE, the US are BUTTER. You just can't beat BUTTER.

Hey Firk, do you think now is a good time to mention the secret ingredient in the Euro-6's? I think PJ said it was OK. He just didn't want it to get out before they we're done. I almost forgot. (you know, about the ecksna?) :)

What's that about the necks?

And what kind of 'latin is that???

The necks on the first run Euro 6LX's are US NS necks. So run out and find one of the remaining ones and wail away. Mine is even more special because it is a NAMM bass. :hyper:

Yup, the beans, they are spilled. The First run Euro-6's have USA necks!!!! Bass Central still has 1 more last time I checked. Better hurry!

My black cherry Rebop with the OBP-1 preamp. I love this bass.

My first Spector: late 70's NS-1

I've played a few Euro's and an SSD at Bass Central. They were great basses but this thing is on another level. I have a feeling this won't be my last Spector. :D

Josh, or anyone else for that matter,

What's the general price on one of those Spalted Euro's? They are damn nice. Also, is there any place to buy some black hardware for Spectors? (I don't know if I could live with the gold :p)

The Euro LX 6's that are in existence as of RIGHT NOW have the US necks, they will not be made like this in the future. There is one left at Bass Central, unless it was swooped up in the last 2 days. [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]
