I think the problem with the DNA tests is that, for example, the several things that make up the original Doberman Breed and the several things that make up the original Boxer may both have Molosser/Mastiff as original breed source DNA. Then take a Rottweiler and you may find that the Rotty has a lot of the same stuff as the other two, and that the Rottweiler was a source breed for the Doberman.
Today, if a Super Duper Maxx XXXL Bully looks a lot like an English Bulldog....it's a Bulldog mutt or an American Pit Bull Terrier mutt as far as I can tell..
.....and it so doesn't matter. I'm not racist, I love all dogs.
