He’s also due for a nail trim:bag:
Interesting. I've always had mixed race dogs so discrepancies in the nails are pretty common to me, among other crazy stuff.
Lilla (RIP), the mother of one of my dogs namend Tito, had 6 fingers in just one of her back legs. Her fifth finger had another finger on top of it, which I've never seen before. Tito had "just" five fingers in his back legs, as well as my other dog namend Boston (which is also a mix), but they both got surgery to remove them.
Last year I've met a beautiful giant sheepdog with an extra finger on both his back legs, and both those fingers had white nails while the others were all black. Very strange.
Dog paws are beautiful.

We had to say goodbye yesterday to this good boy, Odie. He was having some balance issues on Saturday, and they found a mass in his liver. Letting him go was one of the most difficult things we've ever had to do, but I'm glad we got to be with him when he passed. He knew we were sad, and my wife held him the whole time. We rescued him, gave him a good life, and he loved us. And most of all, we loved him dearly. Our son Stephen was totally distraught over it since we've had Odie since Stephen was 9 years old. We're all wrecked today, still. We will miss you dearly, Odie! :crying:

See you on the other side, Odie. You were, are and will be loved! Damn, this makes me so sad, having to post this pic yet again.

That is the hardest part about pets, saying goodbye. Sorry for your loss.

I sure wish a dogs lifespan matched that of humans, clearly we were meant to be partners in life.
It was a gift when they chose to help us with our hunting and to work to protect us while we sleep.
I am sorry for Odie's passing but I love seeing a picture of him enjoying a nice soft blanket, he was a lucky boy.
My heart always feels a little stab when I read a post like yours today.
I hope you and yours feel better a soon as possible, Stephen gets ten extra hugs this week. :)
