My Sadie. We had some marshmallows, her favorite. I had a dream last night, we were walking and she turned to me and barked and then ran and leapt into a river and swam away. I am thankful for every day. 17 years and still wagging.

She turned three in March. We were told she was 18 months old when we got her from the rescue place. A tiny bit of white fur is starting to creep into her eyebrows, but that's the only thing that makes us wonder if she's older. The vet has not suggested she is, though, and she's very energetic (when she's not sleeping).

The past year we've had 21 "rez dog" rescue dogs hanging out at our house, these two are the last pair of a litter of 8 that we have been hosting since February... Both are slated to be adopted out May 1st to very good homes.

My wife decided that our town needed a dog rescue, so for the past 16 months she singlehandedly has been running one: Adopted
