In the '80s, I had a water bed and a standard poodle. When he was ready for me to get up in the morning, he would sit by the side of the bed and start rhythmically bopping the mattress with a front paw, getting it swishing back and forth. I'd wake up, but not make obvious eye contact. He'd just keep bopping, his face by mine, until I opened my eyes. Then he was all over the bed. Such a good boy. I loved him. He was a blue-gray, with 8 champions in his bloodline. Miss him dearly, I do.
Standard poodles are so smart. My aunt had one named Sam. Halo here has been my roommate for a year now - She's around 2.5 yrs. She'll pose for my gf but not for me. I'm OK with that.. (I really have no say in the matter..)
Took about 10 seconds the first time I held my puppy!

This was Mr Bear when my ex-girlfriend brought him home without telling me. I was really upset she made the decision without letting me know. I took one look at him, and that was it. He was with me for the next 19 years.
Oh my gosh. So adorable.
But at the same time, that side-eye expression looks like the face of a puppy with ideas of his own.
That's a good score. Looks like he might have his share of border collie genes. Probably no stranger to an idea or two.
