Even before I saw the dog I thought to myself “Sadowsky makes an amplifier?”

I think many dogs are a bit concerned/suspicious/fearful when they can't see a persons face properly...hoods, dark sunglasses, big hats, face masks. My big doggo hates people wearing face masks. He's a good boy, but he can be a little bit naughty when scared.
Funny thing is that literaly everybody wears one these days. The other one doesn't seem to care at all.
My rescue dog was abused and beaten when we got him. He had a broken rib and the cartilage in his left ear was damaged from either being kicked or punched so now his left ear will not lay down flat. I think the A-Hole jerk who beat him had a hoodie and sunglasses. To this day, seven years later, his whole body starts trembling in fear if a man wearing a hoodie approaches him. That said, what kind of persons beat a dog?I think many dogs are a bit concerned/suspicious/fearful when they can't see a persons face properly...hoods, dark sunglasses, big hats, face masks.
Loki tends to be very calm and unconcerned about all people, and tolerates other dogs behaving poorly.
Several years ago we were out hiking at a designated leash free three mile loop that draws a lot of people with dogs but also some hikers without dogs.
A group of teen boys were walking in our direction and one kid had a black hoodie on his head and he was African American and was very dark, Loki stopped in his tracks and started barking and these boys all froze, I figured out the problem immediately (because of training for him to be a therapy dog) and told the kid take off your hood, take off your hood and as soon as he did Loki stopped barking and started wagging his tail and went straight to that guy to greet him and say he was sorry.
He generally ignores a person who is wearing a floppy sun hat and very dark sunglasses, if the glasses or the hat come off he will wag his tail and greet them.
A very weak despicable person, the same type that beats children. My rescue dog was abused and beaten when we got him. Our vet felt his ear and could feel where the cartilage had built up, like scar tissue does, an then losing its flexibility. When we first got him as a one year old puppy, his ear hung normal, but as he grew and the ear healed is when it became more evident that he had been hit/kicked there. My smaller dog, a rescue, have the same thing to one of his ears. I wonder if somebody beaten him too.
When I don't want a dog trying to get my attention, I fold my arms and hold them out so doggy can't see my face at all. I guess it works on a dog's peekaboo reflex. Some dogs might try rearing up and putting feet on you. Which is easily countered by raising one knee in doggie's general direction.I think many dogs are a bit concerned/suspicious/fearful when they can't see a persons face properly.
