Quincy had to have surgery to repair a torn ligament Friday. Now we have to figure out how to keep him on "reduced activity" for the next few weeks.

That is tough. They do recover fast, though.
We weren't home during the week, so I had to borrow a cage from a co-worker (our dog was ~55-60lbs). We covered it with a blanket so it had a cave vibe vs. a cage. She hated being in there...but we hadda be adults & not baby her.

@malthumb Otto went through TLP surgery (knee) on Xmas eve. Main thing is to not let him out off leash. Here’s Otto on our walk today, at the top of our driveway.

We might have settled on a name...my wife can be morbid. She was thinking "Covid". I am not down with that.
We had Casey & Cody & she wanted something similar. So she looks up popular dog names & she sez "Koda"...but wants it to start with a "C".
Well, I tell her that Coda is a musical term (good!), it's a Zeppelin album (good)...and in Italian, Coda means "tail".
This puppy has a distinctive tail.

My hound Kona was supposed to be Coda... Then we discovered another musical acquaintance that had just lost their dog Coda. They were fawning all over him as I heard about their Coda ... so when they asked, he became uh Ko-Nah, right Kona!
Quincy is ala Quincy Jones. But y'all have probably already figured that out. At the dog park a couple of the older folks think it's after Jack Klugman role in "Quincy: M.D."
He was still "under the influence".
I would be. Not only is it quirky and almost certainly unique. It would save me having to wrack my brains every time someone asked me how old he is.
I suggested Kona (a band I once played in; wife said "...I always hated that band").
My wife agrees...she said we would never forget when we got him.
