Winter build off bass from this year. Specs are in the first post in the build thread.

Chambered maple body, hard maple neck and headstock with walnut veneers
Wood bleach and water-based poly finish
Radiused top and back
~32" scale
46mm nut
17mm bridge spacing
15" fingerboard radius
EMG CS40 pickup in custom cover

I was pretty sure it was one of yours (I'll check out the thread) - I dig the bleached maple look.

Just acquired my third white bass. This one is a 1980 (I suspect) Thunderbird made in Japan by Greco Guitar company. They put out a string of TBirds over a 10 or 15 year period that were phenomenal sounding instruments...

About a month ago I picked up a Squier Classic Vibe 60s Precision. Great instrument and after a minor setup it felt wonderful. But... I like to tinker and make things my own. So of course I had to mod the crap out of this bass.

EMG GZR P pickup
Graphtech Black Tusq XL nut
DR Black Beauties strings
Fender B/W/B pickguard
Puretone black chrome output jack
Black knurled knobs
Black string tree
Black strap buttons
Dyed fretboard with Fiebings USMC Black leather dye
Sanded back of neck to satin finish

Realistically, the only thing that "needed" to be done was either the bridge or tuners as the bass had a small tendency to neck dive, but even then it wasn't so extreme as to make it unplayable, just a bit annoying. Now, I love this bass. It's totally my own, it feels amazing to strap on, and it plays wonderfully.

My beloved once white Peavey Fury now a lovely aged white beauty. This is the first bass I purchased and I absolutely love it!

And here is a more recent build, vintage white CV body, Fender neck, original Fender 62 P/U, Swithcraft jack, CTS pots, orange drop cap, cloth pushback wiring, threaded saddle bridge F/flats...

So did it come from the factory that way? A RI 'early'66 dot/bound neck, but on an early '60s stacked-pots/external ground-strip body. Is it MIJ and what year did it come out?
