Just making sure this doesn't get buried in the thread grave alive, because I still want to see that Orange with the berg, ha.
Wide low mids. Ample bottom. The highs trail off into a stem.
Colorful yet saggy tone. Much preferred by tube amp bassists.

Ha, I sure wouldn't mind helping you try some of your gear out, but I'm sure you've already got most of the perfect combinations found. I've seen some pretty nice gas inspiring pictures from your GTG's, ha.
Has anyone tried the Thunderverb 200? My search didn't find any review. I'm curious as to how it does the "clean and massive" tube sound. Normally I'm a solid state guy, but I have an unexplained obsession with the color orange........

I tried the Thunderverb at NAMM, and I really liked its overdriven tone. Loads of fun! But, IME/IMHO, it did not do as good of a full, powerful, clean tone as the AD200, and it was not as loud (at least not in clean mode) as the AD200. Still, it'd be fun to have a tag team Orange double stack for the best of both worlds!

IMHO, the AD200 MkIII is a better head than what others seem to have experienced. I am wondering if it is a variance from unit to unit, or just a matter of personal preference?
It really is a unit to unit thing in my opinion, and it shouldn't be, but that just tends to be the deal.
I would really never buy an Orange without playing it first, as I've heard some interesting stories of QC on the Orange forum before.
That being said, and remembering that it IS the Orange forum, if you go over and look for AD200 reviews, you'll be blown away by it's reputation. Great head! They also have a sound clip section as a sticky in the very top of the forum.

Okay, I am not sure who ran off with it, but my 'regular' camera is nowhere to be found (mental note - scour wife's car, when I have a free moment 
), so I had to use an old crappy one. 
Hopefully, you get the picture (excuse the pun).
Tone-wise, this is a great match. The AD200 can do a very full, rich clean tone, though it can get leaner, if you want it to. The overdrive gets about as wooly as I would actually use, live, and the NV610 really makes the most of it (while still maintaining a solid foundation). The visceral impact of this rig exceeded my expectations, to be honest. That AD200 gets really, really loud, and the sealed NV610 holds up just fine, even if you push the head pretty hard. But man, my body and my ears wouldn't take much at that volume!
This would be a great gigging rig, IMHO.
