Thanks for the reply.Definitely be careful with the 9.2 head, Howie. As Andy just said, it is a lot of power, especially since those drivers are no longer in production.
I've never played the combo at a high volume, with or without the extension cab. If you do need higher volume, consider using a second 12T cabinet as I did, and run at a lower master setting, and/or use an HPF and limiter. I didn't get into that in my original post.
Part of the reason I swapped out for the 9.2 is that I could also use it with bigger cabs with more power handling. I've said in other threads that the 9.2 is an amazing piece of engineering. Small but deceptively powerful.
Here is a short, but good thread about the 9.2 from 2012: Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 Thread
Yes, it will only be used at lower volumes like my 6.0 and the main reason is I found a 9.2 for cheap, so I couldn't resist.
I also have my bigger Mesa Subway 215 I can use it with if I'm looking for some "big thump".
I've found a 12" driver in mint condition that came out of a GB conbo, so I might just grab that as a spare.
I also have a few HPF's on hand, so definitely would use one if needed.
Yes, i think I've read most threads on Genz-Benz heads on TB and have owned several including a 9.2 and still own a couple now. But thanks again for the link. I enjoy reading, so I'll have another look. Thanks!
