Hey Roger/Andy......kinda an OT question here.
There is talk in another thread about different cab configurations (210/410 etc) being used together.
Say if I had a pair of 8 Ohm cabs- a NeoX112 and NeoX212 (Oh man would that KILL!!).
Would I have any issues of ANY sort.
Should I look into maybe having one cab 4Ohms and the other 8?? And look at an amp that can handle below 4Ohm load if I run like that?
I don't recall in any of your literature or on your web site ever reading anything regarding getting the optimum performance from your amps/cabs to run different impedances (if using different configs like a 210/410 or 112/212 etc...).
Per the other thread, that is EXACTLY what you have when you combine the 4ohm NX212 with the 8ohm NX112. Each driver gets equal power, so it is the equivalent of having a 3 x 112 stack. That is a beautiful thing, as long as your head can run at 2.67ohms, or as is the case of the Max, you can run one side at 4 and one at 8 to give you 'relatively' equal power into each 12.

Your saying that at the SAME settings on an amp, a 4Ohm cab will get "relatively equal power" as you wrote????
That is WAY mis-leading. Sure each speaker my see the same power, but the difference in volume alone would be nutty.
My 112 on my amp with my basic settings, then a 212 on my amp without touching a thing on my amp would be a LOT louder.

+1, and all the reason why I loved this setup so much for a long time. Putting the little 112 on top of the 212 just adds "more of the same" in a big way. More volume, more air movement, and it gets a driver up higher which makes hearing easier. I know some people did this with two 212's, but that stack to me was TOO tall, and it put too much direct sound in my ear unless I was way out in front of the rig. With the 212/112 setup, you can stand close on the rig to really feel things moving, yet not be blasted by the mid frequencies coming from the highest driver. Of course, that's assuming you are an average sized person.The difference in volume of CABS would obviously be different. Why would you want a little 112 cab to be as loud as a big 212 cab?You need to think drivers not cabs... each driver will be relatively the same volume, resulting in the equivalent of a beautiful 3 x 112 stack in a vertical array (assuming you stack the 112 on top of the 212). The only difference between this scenario and a 3 x 112 stack (remember any two 112's combined will also be louder than the remaining single 112) is that you have two of the '112's' in the same box.
