I've played a lot of covers and adaptations over the years.
I have a soft spot for simple bass lines that especially need steadiness and intensity. Those bass lines that induce a hypnotic state when done right.

Love the groove on this, but it would hypnotize me when we performed it live... tempo so important, too... the feel of it's ruined, if it's too fast... constantly had to signal the drummer to slow it down.

cool thread, i ran across these songs on my playlist that had a "mezmo" effect on me.

Fleetwood Mac - Hypnotized

Kings X - Mr. Wilson

and these r just a few. I love songs that have that effect. The basslines dont always have to be complex to achieve it.
