SIMPLE EBO BRIDGE MOD

Chop off some old ball ends off old strings, slip them over the string and use them to extend the strings at the bridge so the windings don't lay over the saddles.

I know - buy the hip shot bridge - but in a pinch this works pretty well!

to add a bit of thump cut up an old yoga mat and slip it under the strings at the bridge
I still wind up palm muting in conjunction with it but it adds a nice round tone when you lift off as well.

might have do drill or ream out one of the ferules do work a 105 through it.

I don't like the fuzzes because you do want good contact between the string and the saddle so you are starting with the best possible source material. Then mute for the thump from there.

I have heard of this tone coil - is it a cap on the tone pot or what?

also - any one ever move the strap button at the neck or change the tuners to fix the neck dive issue?

The tone coil is, as it's name suggests, a choke coil. In the EB0F and EB2 that I owned it was mounted under a black plastic plate under the hand rest. I'm going back a few decades with this but there were a thin red and black pair of wires wired across the volume control. I found that if you disconnected the red wire the whole bass came alive. You could really hear what that glorious hum bucker could really do. for the EB0F I just disconnected the red as above. Having more space in the EB2 I designed a way of connecting the coil in series with the pickup for one set of tones and in parallel for another set. This was accomplished using a double pole two way toggle switch along with a double pole three way toggle switch. Gave the bass a quite versatile range of tones.

Then I bought a Fender Precision and found that the EB2 felt like a plank. I sold it soon after.
