Leon Wilkeson obviously, he played exactly what the song needed in such cool ways, he just did his thing and made the songs killer. After him would be Johnny colt with the black crowes. Remedy is a good example of his playing. He is moderately complex and did what the song needed to be great. Jon lawhon from Blackstone cherry is another bassist I really like. His playing crosses from simple and supportive on some songs to complex when needed to give the song that extra bit of feeling to make it great.These guys are the best examples of bass playing I like and to me are what a bassist should strive to do, and are big influences on my playing. Leon being my biggest influence and inspiration and may he R.I.P.
