into the cab of your choice will produce sound without all the unnecessary knobs.

some like knobs to adjust to the room or to get their desired tone but those are a minority here.
In what way would a passive DI running into a power amp work? There needs to be an additional gain stage somewhere. There are active DIs that will drive a power amp directly, but most have some additional controls too, I think. Many folks find a modicum of control desirable.

Learn how to build a preamp pedal with enough gain to drive a power amp, and with a *fixed* EQ that you choose; you design the resistor/capacitor filter that works for you, solder it together, leave it in the box with no knob, or put it in the instrument.
Not recommending tube circuits, just a 9V pedal. Anyone could learn how to do this.

You will never understand

Don't worry OP, I get you.

My suggestion would be an SWR Amplite with a DBX 163X compressor to bring your signal up to line level. Both standard half-rack sized units.

All my amps I end up running the EQ flat and the soundman is going to do what he wants to do to my signal anyway.

Could I go via a DI pre-amp pedal?

I have a MXR pre-amp DI

Our new friend seems to trash every answer that he gets in all the threads he started. He’s looking for a knob-less kit, I suggested one. Is it a good suggestion? That’s another subject.
