    I see it more and more lately, even here on TalkBass.

    Is it now widely used Texting Jargon or what?
    (I don't know, I don't text)

    Personally, I think it is not only disrespectful, but is also just in bad taste.
    but....... that's just me.

    According to my 13-year-old daughter, "FTW" means "**** the world".

    I much prefer the "for the win", as used on TB.

    Pre-interwebz, it was inferred just as your daughter said. Living in LA, I remember the tags on the street. The web changed it.
