It sounds great in the videos. I think in a few years (provided no lawsuits) it will not bother people as much. The shorter horn just messes with what we expect to see.

I found one on line for a 5 string...money left my credit account faster'n a hare being chased by blue tick hound. It should be here next week. I too don't care for the black. I might be convinced to part with it for a bit of green.
I really love my 2021 2nd gen M5. It sounds amazing and I have it set up so it plays like butter. My only issue is a really wish it was a 4 string. I just don't need the B string in my current band. I also love playing Rush with this bass because of its aggressive tone ( no B string required). If anyone has a 4 string M5 or M7 and wants to move to 5 strings, shoot me a message. You won't find one that plays any better than mine.
I've been reading some negative comments about the large 'Marcus Miller' lettering being on the headstock of Sire basses, I've never really thought about it much before, it puzzled me a bit when I first got my P7 as to why it didn't have 'Sire' on the headstock but I just accepted how it was and I don't really mind that Marcus's name is on there.
What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it would have been preferable for the basses to have had the 'Sire' lettering instead in a large font with perhaps the 'Marcus Miller' lettering being underneath in small font size (maybe in his signature) or a script type of font?

As long as I don't have to pay a premium for it to say a certain name (perhaps one starting with an F or a G), I don't care what the headstock says as long as it sounds good and plays nice.
In fact I'm all for headstocks that I don't have to pay a premium for...
This was clearly a marketing decision. Marcus Miller is much better known than Sire. But I do find it strange that the Sire logo is so small. I actually had to have a Sire t-shirt made because none were available from Sire.
I think they need to revisit this decision at some point. Their logo needs to be more prominent.
As to whether this has any weight on the decision to own or play this bass, none at all.
I don't get the hate for the logo. It's not ugly, I mean, I guess I wouldn't choose it, but before I started researching basses I didn't know who Marcus Miller was. As to the the shape, I like it just fine. I like it better than the G&L.
Went into a guitar center this weekend to try out some budget basses. The Sire V3 I tried was easily the best bass sub $1200 and it was $479. I don't like the branding or the preamp controls but two days later I'm still thinking about how well it played.
Are you able to compare to a V3P? Even less expensive passive version.
Right now, my favorite bass to play is my V3 G2 fiver. The neck feels right and the tone is great. It weighs in at 8.8 pounds...not too bad for a fiver.
I don't think the shape of the headstock is that bad either, in fact to my eyes it's very similar to a Lakland and no one seems to slag those off?
it's funny though, if I get asked what make of bass it is I instinctively say "it's a Marcus Miller" and never say "it's a Sire"? Perhaps because of the large Marcus Miller wording on the headstock, also on the gig bag it has Marcus Miller printed on it, not Sire.
I can't see them dropping 'Marcus' on the headstock to using the 'Sire' name, they may have left it too long now.
Interesting. I always say mine are Sires. I look at the Marcus Miller brand as a family name, not the manufacturer's name. Same as I would say Conklin (mfr) GrooveTools (family).
I don't mind it being called a Marcus Miller, it sort of makes it sound a bit more of a bespoke instrument rather than it being named Sire?
Incidentally, shouldn't this be called the Marcus Miller Bass Club rather than the Sire Bass Club???

Seriously, I think in Europe these are marketed as "Marcus Miller basses" or "Marcus Miller by Sire".

I will clear this up ... Sire used Marcus Miller because I refused to let them use my own name.

Just my opinion: The Sire S should be twice as large in heavier font. But I don't work for Sire.
