I have very low action set from the factory. Otherwise find some vids on youtube showing how to set up your action. If you need the tools search for "luthier tools" on Ebay

It's 3/32 of an inch where the the body meets the neck.

Count me in, ive had mine for almost a month now. Not signed but if I'm honest I find the signed plates a bit ugly, although I realise they add value to the bass (if the sig doesn't rub off lol)
Alder white/rosewood. Lovely finish . Action is 2mm on the E at the 12th fret. Just like all my basses. I love the strings but at the next change im going for a balenced tension set and a .130 B
Still not got a decent shot of just the V7 but here's one I posted in the other thread.
Happy to take the next number available please.

Looks like #301 or is it #304? I also added a bit of relief, which removed the buzz. First class instrument all the way around. Wish it was a couple pounds lighter, but can't complain. Finish and sound are top notch. I think this thing just dethroned my CIJ Geddy, which will be for sale!

Ooh nice to see that nice round number 1000! I'm still not sure how the numbering breaks down. I think it was the first 220 in the US were signed, though it's strange as I'm in the 900s but some other US'ers were in the 300s. Who cares, I got it, I love it, done deal!

Haha I bought this INSTEAD of a CIJ Geddy! My reasoning was that I've never even seen a Geddy, much less played one...in theory it's what I want but for $300 less I get a brand new Jazz in a similar build. Without having played either, how would I know the difference?

Don't get me wrong though I'd still love a CIJ Geddy down the road.


So my guess on the actual serial numbers is that the first few digits are a lot code, followed by the actual sn? So mine would be sn 221?

I haven't gotten mine yet, but it's going to take a hell of a lot to dethrone my CIJ Geddy! Then again, I'm only getting this because I needed a 5 string for those rare moments when one is absolutely required. So It's essentially a backup bass.

I've been wondering if me fooling around with my new P-bass with Geddy neck is making my stock Geddy Lee jealous!

I might have been a wee bit hasty with "dethrone". The GL certainly has the weight advantage and that unmistakable growl. The GL neck is thinner and flatter, sometimes too much so for my taste. The Sire neck profile is more rounded.

I am not really playing jazz bass right now, so one of them will have to go. I guess there really should be a proper duel.
