I haven't gotten mine yet, but it's going to take a hell of a lot to dethrone my CIJ Geddy! Then again, I'm only getting this because I needed a 5 string for those rare moments when one is absolutely required. So It's essentially a backup bass.

I've been wondering if me fooling around with my new P-bass with Geddy neck is making my stock Geddy Lee jealous!

My Sire V7 5 string WB dethroned my CIJ Marcus signature. Keeping it though because of emotional value :-)

It's 3/32 of an inch where the the body meets the neck.
Thank you but too high for my taste...
in my Mexico Fender jazz deluxe 5 my action at 12th is 2/32" on g string, and 2,5/32" on e string
In metrical 1,5 mm on g string and 2mm on the e...lowb is about 2,25mm. .all the measure without press at 1st fret
With Miller never be able to achieve this action ... in fact sent the bass back to Thomann ...
Unfortunately my Miller has several flaws first of all the stack mid knob completely blocked and mounted wrong ...
And then bad fretwork from 12th fret to 15th.... :-(((

Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully you mentioned this to the guys at Thomann, so they can send it back.

Most here have very positive experiences with their Sire/Miller basses.

Lukiluk,

Which one did you order, I'm about to order another one and don't want a faulty one?

You should have Thomann adress the problem with Sire, or even talk to Sire about it in a PM on facebook.

Everyone including Sire Guitars wants a top notch product. They want happy costumors that keep comming back, as do Thomann, as I'm sure you want to be a happy costumor that buys more of their products.

You have a 30 day return guarantee. Don't hesitate!!

The string height issue you have is always a balance between neck relief and height. maybe the neck on the bass was too straight for extremly low action. It has to curve a tiny bit. Get a Feeler gauge like this to get the proper curve on your bass neck, and get these tools if you don't have them already, they will get you a long way:

LASER 2481 FEELER GAUGE SET IMP/METRIC 32 BLADES GUAGE INCLUDES BRASS BLADE | eBay

String Action Gauge Ruler Guide Setup Measuring For Bass Guitar Luthier Tool | eBay

Set of 4 Stainless Steel Understring Radius Gauge - Luthier | eBay

I got these items a while ago and watched some of the online vids like this one:

(EDIT!!! Get a capo too :-) )

My Miller is a alder tsb...
Today I went to the luthier and he confirmed that 5 frets higher than others ... besides the problem of the preamp ... I'll send back to Thomann. ..but I do not know if i'll take another one...
