Strange. So far, members with signed basses outnumber those of us with unsigned basses. I've had 3 V7s in the house, none of them were signed. Hmmmm.

Curious when you guys see or say V7, are you thinking or saying; Vee7, five7 or dominant7?

I say 'Vee seven' saying 'five-seven' never crossed my mind as I have a four string![]()
I'm going to put some sort of plastic over mine so I don't rub it off. It came out of the box very slightly scraped / rubbed off to begin with...it's funny part of me feels like I missed out not getting a signed one but part of feels like if I did, would it stop me playing the crap out of it?!
I have the same model, same color #936!Here's mine...signed, 930! View attachment 588755View attachment 588757

Ordered from Sire US? I ordered from Thomann, no ashtray.Curious. It comes with an ashtray pickup cover and two screws but no pre-drilled screwholes.
I find the pickup balance knob a good way to change between lots of different tones quickly, it's just a bit "touchy", but lots of tonal options available within 1/8 turn either way from the center detente.Mines not singed and to be honest im gald. I think that plate looks ugly and cheap with the sig on it. I realise ill get crucified for saying this, but thats how i feel.
The rest of the bass.....cant fault it. Ive done 2 gigs this weekend with it (5 hours in total) and i cant get enough of it. Im finding that i now use passive mode a lot. I turned the active mode down a bit so its just a bit lower than passive mode when flat. I tend have the active mode set up so a more fuller, modern tone and find switching between them really makes the bass even more versatile.
Yes from Sire U.S.Ordered from Sire US? I ordered from Thomann, no ashtray.

Ah ok, thanks. Don't want one anyway, never have liked them, only get in the way, and if I need mutes, I'll do it myself.@bholder I believe you got a 5 string? I think only the 4 strings (US and Thomann) shipped with pickup covers, not a US/Thomann thing.
Yes mine is a four string, U.S. ordered. But I am not going to drill any holes.@bholder I believe you got a 5 string? I think only the 4 strings (US and Thomann) shipped with pickup covers, not a US/Thomann thing.
...one thing which wasn't too good --> loose knob...
poopie happens, besides that... it was a quick fix, Remove the cover, tighten the bolt a bit, and looks(& works) like a charm now.I'm very sorry to hear that...![]()
