My V7 5ST showed up today! Don't have much time to play it today, going out of town shortly for a week. It was about a half step flat. Tuned it to standard and checked the relief and action and it's nice and low like I like it. It's a beautiful beast for sure.

Seems like they tune them 1/2 step flat for shipping. Others got theirs that way, I didn't really pay attention when I got mine.

Congrats! Too bad you'll have to wait a week to get any "quality time" with your new love.

Arghhh, they delayed all the V7's shipping date. I ordered mine on april 15th. And why is the black alder 4, the one I ordered, getting shipped later than the other alder models? I sold my Squier for this so I'm "Basseless" right now. CANT WAIIIIIT

Interesting - where did you see this and which batch were you in? Ordered mine last week with expected 4/30 shipping and the site still says the same date on my order.

Thanks!

Also interested in hearing where you found out about the delay? I ordered a V7 5 on April 12. Hmm...

It used to say all basses ordered from april 7th will be shipped on april 19th. Now, it says all basses ordered from april 11th will be shipped on may 20th (for the black alder 4 strings model). The other 4 string alder models are to be shipped on april 30th.

I'm confused. I don't wanna wait until may 20th... and that's just for the shipping. Count in 2 weeks because I live in Canada.

The notices below the basses on the web site are different than what is saved in the order. At least for me it was. Seeing the same thing? Don't know if that means anything. Probably not...

Oh, now I know what you guys were refering to. Essentially, the date written on your personal order is different than the one displayed below the basses. That being said, there are two possibilities:

1) The programmers didn't do their jobs correctly and didn't update the notice on your personal order. The bass will ship later.

2) Your personal order is different meaning they'll ship it at X date written on your order. Little contradiction with this case: why bother telling us orders after april 11th if we're april 20th? No one's gonna go in the past and order it there. Why not just say after april 19th?

I know, I'm might be overthinking this a lot but guys, I'M BASSELESS! I NEED A BASS IN MY HANDS ! I'm currently practicing my slap on my guitar. RIP strings.

Somebody from Sire called me tonight. I ordered a V7 Ash/Maple board 5er. Supposed to be shipped on the 19th. Got the shipping notification and everything. The guy said that there was a mishap with shipping because there was a new law about importing ash wood into the country. So, the parts for my bass never showed up. He offered me pretty much any of the alder/rosewood basses. Just no ash 5 string basses. We're working something out now. Did anyone else get the same call?

Wow, no but I ordered an Alder bass luckily. You in the USA?

Yes, I'm in the USA. He was explaining how they ship their parts to Indonesia to be assembled.

A new law about shipping ash wood into Indonesia? Really?

This all seems very odd, that they'd just now learn of this new law affecting their industry, and after a shipping notice was generated and everything. You'd think they wouldn't do that until it is built, at least.

Maybe the Chinese models will be more popular now, if you can still get an ash/maple bass.

Let us know what more you hear about this.
