I had to break down and ask Mickey for a volume/tone pot replacement. Mine has had a strange scratch in it for the last couple of months that won't get any better no matter how much I clean it. It was really bad playing at the church the other night and any time I would touch roll the volume up or down there would be a crackle everyone could hear in their IEM's and the house system. It's been manageable but it's just gone to a new level and I need to get it taken care of. Mickey's hooking me up and just sending me one.

I'm glad Mickey worked it out for you.
I wonder if they stock enough spare parts for these sorts of things?

Speaking of breaking down, I've been logging into the Sire site daily to look at my order that's processing. I gotta stop that asap! Lol

He didn't say how many, just that they had spare parts for these types of things. Looks like it shipped out today so I should get it next week sometime. Hopefully you get an update on your order soon!

Just wanted to share (read: humblebrag :smug:) how well the white/tort V7 compliments a sunburst/black p bass counterpart..... Oops! How'd those other 2 get in there?

Still amazed at how awesome this V7 feels/sounds. It's right on par with my Bongo (different, but just as pleasing to my ears with equal clarity and smoothness). Can't wait to get a nice deep blue abalone PG (image at [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]) to give it w new flavor down the road.

Sire V7 hipshot bridge

Final mods (I pinky swear). I switched from stock strings to DR Sunbeams (feels and sounds just right). The stock bridge had some mild rumble/rattle on the E that I was able to fix with some pipe insulation and making sure that all the bridge saddles were level to themselves (no tilt so they don't bang against each other) but then I saw a post on this thread about the Hipshot A (string through) and just finished the mod. Looks amazing. Sounds solid. Brass adds an extra 2.5 oz but with the Ultralites I put on the headstock, it balances PERFECTLY (IMHO), sits at a nice 45 degree angle off my shoulder. 9.2 lbs on the bathroom scale. Speaking of Mods, I keep playing The Who's "The Seeker" on this thing and it sounds killer.

Should be getting my V7 in a couple weeks, saw the fender elite jazz bass at a shop, couldn't help but think it shares some similarities with the V7s 18volt preamp with mid controls.

I'm curious if the fender elite jazz basses are worthy of their $2000 price tag. At that price range they better make a phenomenal instrument, some amazing boutique options from other companies in that range.

I just found out my Tobaccoburst alder/rosewood V7 is delivered and ready for pick up at my local UPS store, but I could not get there before they closed and will have to wait until Monday...brutal.

I actually have a Hipshot A bridge ready for this bass. Question for you: what size of Hipshot Ultralites did you need for the V7 (diameter-wise)?
