I am not sure what kind of bridge it is, but it is not original unless they changed their bridges at some point. I just compared it to mine. At the string anchor point, mine does not have those large metal mass pieces between strings which are visible in the 2nd photo.

The only negative thing I have to say (not for me, but for some folks) about the M7 is the construction....Its not bad, but the difference between this M7 and my V7 is that the V7 is really made well- as good or better than some USA Fenders (probably the reason TBers went nutso over them originally)...The M7, to me, feels and looks like an Asian bass where the V7 didn't....As a person that really could care less where a bass is made, this isnt an issue for me but it may be an issue for other folks

Tonewise is another matter all together -- Its most definitely a Swiss Army bass, and does a few things my G&L doesnt (like Single Coil mode)...I just A/Bd it against my V7: the two singles are definitely almost a Jazz bass (where the V7 really nails that Marcus-Jazz sound the M7 is very 'in-the-ballpark", hell its playing 2B lol). It will most certainly pass for a Jazz if nobody is none the wiser but it is a smidge "less edgier/ less growl" than my V7....Considering my fortes are Funk, Jazz, and Blues, this is actually kind of a plus, but maybe not for Rock folks

The Mid-Pickup soloed in Series mode is a seriously great P-Bass sound - it will be fun using that on "Forget Me Nots" - and using the Parallel mode gives another slightly thinner P-Bass alternative that I would call "late 70s"...the Series P-Bass facsimile I think is better than my G&L

Some of the advantages this bass has over my G&L ASAT ( for myself, I gauge all things against my ASAT which is basically an L-2000) is the single-coil mode as well as all the series/parallel options gives this thing all kinds of great tones that the G&L cant cover....Mid PU in Series and Bridge PU in single is an excellent P/J...with the Mid PU in Parallel coupled with the single coil bridge is also a P/J tone with a thinner but more articulate voicing

The two pickups in Parallel Mode I thought would be more G&L sounding but it isnt ( I guess because of the proprietary nature of the G&L preamp system) but its still an excellent sound all of its own.

bridge PU soloed in single-coil mode with Tone and Highs rolled back is a great Jaco and the bridge PU soloed in parallel is even better IMO

So far so good, will have it gig-worthy later

Photos can be deceptive but the two look quite different. I really like the (apparent) finish on Riccobass's, but am not too wild about the blue finish on the 4-string in the classifieds. I didn't order blue because I thought it would look more like the "for sale" M7, but I think Riccobass's blue is just gorgeous.

So, his pics are on pg 266 but I am posting one of his here b/c it looks so nice, hope he doesn't mind:

I did not notice until the for sale M7 was posted that the knobs are nicer metal ones rather than the plastic ones shown on the model basses. I don't know if that is just as a "prize" for the long wait for this first batch, or if that's the way they will all come.

My T-shirt was Korean XXXL, which should equate to a medium, lol. You're prolly right. It'd be nice if they made the nicer knobs available for purchase by later buyers, they are slick.

EDIT: by the way, my bass was made in Indonesia, and not in the Chinese facility, if anyone is wondering.

No..it's a Hipshot or really nice knockoff, the Sire bridge is not easy load as that one is.

Riccobass' blue M7 is fantastic. If I knew for certain that my M7 would like like that when I opened the box, I'd get one in a heartbeat.

You need to get a fender replacement model, I forgot who has a Hipshot on their V7 but it's doable

The pictures of my bass were taken with my phone in fairly direct light. It is darker than it appears in the pictures. I'll try to get more pictures tomorrow. The blue on the site blew me away. It was not as impressive in person. I'm sure it's a great bass, but I can't live with the color. I opened it and re-packed it to sell. It hasn't even been plugged in.

And here is your Transparent Black M7 5 string! Haven't even plugged it in yet. It feels absolutely great. I wanted to catch the grain on the maple top, so the lighting can be deceiving here. It is certainly black, not brownish. Can't wait to plug it in!

Nice looking bass! The first ash body we've seen. Really nice flame.
