I just had to drop my 4 string V7 standard in here!! :) :) I LOVE THIS BASS!!! Just did a full recording with it at one of my hometown's legendary studios(Royal), recorded thru a mic'd early FENDER BASSMAN 4X10 cab!! I'm such an old school type of guy and as much as I love all my outstanding EBS rigs,I go completely nuts over the old school vibe as well! Gonna eventually post more live and some studio recordings of these wonderful basses soon!! Stay tuned!!

I'm not sure if this was mentioned lately (it has been mentioned a few times on the forum), but there is a little blue square trim pot (has a little white philips screw adjustment head) on the board inside the electronics cavity that will allow you to adjust the hotness of the active side (I think it adjusts the active side, it has been a while since I messed with it). That will allow you to dial in and match up the active and passive volume levels.

That would look sweet on a black vintage. I think you should use this as an excuse to get another Sire!

I've spent some time with them now. The strings seems to be a lot more balanced, the volume difference is not noticeable anymore.
The magnets are staying in place fine, i have accidentally touched the top layer of the magnets a few times so they become slightly crooked (only the top layer, i have never knocked the magnet off the pickup).
Which i will remedy by buying 2mm & 3mm height magnets so i don't have to use the stacked 1mm magnets.

I have a lot of fret buzz now. Not sure if it's because of the neck relief or the magnets though

On a differernt bass with humbuckers - I have experienced serious intonation issues (I couldn't adjust the bridge enough to get the 12th fret note in pitch) and the whole issue was because I had the neck pickup too high and it was pulling the strings too much (I was not expecting that to have been the problem, I was surprised). So it is possible with the magnet height is pulling too much and causing the frets to buzz. As a test, remove the magnets and see if the buzz continues, then put one layer on and build it back up, maybe you will need to limit it to 1mm and 2mm on the A string.

If you do have fret buzz with no mags in place, then check the relief and tweak it.

I will try with the magnets off.

It looks like a have a tad too much relief but i can't adjust the truss rod anymore. It seems to be bottomed out

Something is not right there. Depending on your setup knowledge (I'm an experienced hack at it - I get by with general setup, but I'm sure there is a lot I don't know that I should), you might want to bring it into somebody. Did you have any issues before hand? The nut may need some adjustment. There is an interesting science behind a good setup and it makes a big difference.
