This one came from Japan, it shipped really quick given the circumstances, maybe about a week give or take. Definitely faster than I thought it would
I find the same with shipping anywhere from Asia - especailly China - generally really slow, but occasionally deal with a seller who knows how to get things moving. Have had several faster-than-expected arrivals (small parts mostly) lately.

Who's got two thumbs and ANOTHER tracking number??? This guy!

Sire took the messed up bass back and is sending me an identical one. Nice to be able to deal directly with the managers of the brand and be told they will make it right. So a bit of delay but still stoked!
Glad they're making it right. :)

Sorry i took so long. Sign me up:

I ordered mine monday. And it says the ship date is April 10th. Are these dates usually accurate? And what state does it ship from. I did a search and it sent me here.
They're getting a lot better about being close to ship dates from what I can tell, but it depends on lots of factors out of their control (international shipping, unless they have it in stock here). They ship from California for the USA.

I haven't ordered anything recently, I'm just going by recent reports here in the forum - they seem to be not quite as backlogged lately as they were at points last year - the trials and tribulations of being popular! ;)

I think it also depends on how many people ordered ahead of you in this "batch". I may be wrong but that's how it worked for me and others that bought before. So if your ship date is April 10th but you are further down on the list of people who ordered on this cycle then it could take a little longer.

I should be good. Friday it said one left. But by the time I ordered it Monday it said in stock. I've always wanted a ash/natural body with a maple neck. The block inlays are just icing on the cake.

Stoked to get my replacement V7 TOMORROW.
Crossing all digits that everything works as expected because with the exception of that bridge pickup, I loved everything about the first one...
Figures that the kids have all kinds of activities tomorrow afternoon, so I'll be lucky to get to plug it in before 10 or so... Still, nothing like the anticipation of (Sorta) New Bass Day!

Sorry for the double post, but ohhhhhhhhhhhh man.

New Bass Day, extended edition:

Weird to say, but 2 weeks back I was as stoked for this V7 to come as I was when the Fodera I had for awhile was out for delivery. I ordered the Sire to be a backup for my main bass - a StingRay - and because I miss Jazz Basses. Just wanted something familiar, versatile, and SOLID. So you can imagine my disappointment when it arrived without a functional bridge pickup… Those travails have already been described.

I emailed, FB messaged, and called Sire over the course of a day. I was a little irritated that they didn’t pick up or get right back to me, but when I did get ahold of them on the phone later, they offered to replace it. Honestly, for a small company, I was kinda surprised that they were so casual about communication. Think I sent like 4 emails for every one reply, but that was because I was the one without a working bass, and as noted, they replaced it on their dime.

New V7 arrived today, and it KILLS. The fit and finish is better than the one I had originally, which had a bit of rattle on the A-string before I adjusted it, and the paint had a couple dark spots - this one is flawless, subtle sparkle. The neck on this one is arrow-straight right out of the bat, and both super-pretty and ultra-playable. Just had to lower the bridge to my preference. The sound is fantastic now that I’ve got both pickups to play with. Dialing in that MM slap tone with the sweepable mid is so much easier. I doubt I’ll ever run it passive - so much juice! The only downside is that the first one came with the nice leather strap, which I returned with all the accessories. No strap included with this one, but I’m not running out of those, so all good.

I got it as a backup, but it’s definitely its own thing, and I see myself playing it a ton. This whole thing has made me a fan, both of the company’s product and the way they handle issues. I'm here to stay.

Great to hear! I love the red color, I already know if I come up with an excuse to get another one, that's the color I'll get.

Woo Hoo! I have a Sire V7 Vintage 4 arriving tomorrow!

I'm actually donating this one to a church, but I get to play it for a little while first!

This will be the first Sire that I have ever played. From everything that I have read its the best bang for the buck out there. We'll see!

I will post a review here after I check it out.

Hey here's a short review of the Sire Vintage 4!

Bass arrived in great condition, especially for this price point. I was very impressed with the fretwork and overall feel and tone of the instrument! Pre-amp is really nice and hardware/tuners are decent.

I think that you definitely got a lot of bang for the buck with a Sire! The only thing that compares to a new Sire IMO is a new Ibanez, but only if your Ibanez dealer can get you 20% or more off of the regular selling price! However, I think the Sire has better fret work and overall setup compared to an Ibanez with a similar price!

If Sire continues to upgrade their product while keeping the cost low, they should be around for a long time! And Mickey is fantastic to deal with!
Overall I give this bass 4 1/2 stars out of 5!

Looking forward to future Sire basses!
