I sold my M7 5 because I just couldn't get the DEEP tone that I need for my cover band. I'm sure if I worked with it more I could have gotten there, but the bass was too complicated for me. I like plug n play.

I got my black metal knobs for my P7 from ebay. I got the ones with a set screw. Some are pretty inexpensive, but there are a lot of different kinds and prices. My seven knobs together cost less than $15.
Link for your knobs? I paid rather more than that for the Sadowsky style black metal knobs I put on my V7.
Just ebay.com on the internet. Then I searched through the items under guitar/knobs/metal/black until I found what I wanted. If you use the low price first qualifier you can stop when you reach your price limit. The two knobs on one pot kind are called stacked knobs. My regular knobs and stacked knobs are from different companies and different sized but the same color - good enough for me. The set screw type fit more different controls than the push on and less stress on the controls internals when installing. The cheap ones are from Asia so be prepared to wait awhile. Good luck.
So did you have much bother getting the small knobs off the concentric controls, it must be glued on as it won't budge for me ....aghhhhhh lol
They are stuck on tight that's for sure. Sire has actually stopped offering replacement knobs as freebies because so many people wrecked their pots trying to replace the knobs. I've been able to get mine off, but it takes some time and concentration (and some hand strength). There are tools for removing knobs that work, though, but they are trickier to use on concentric stacked pots.
The knobs on my P7 were snug but came off with just a little encouragement from a small screwdriver (the kind you tighten screws on glasses). They were not stuck, but normally tight. Be gentle and slow so you don't hurt the pot. Good luck.
Looking good, are the concentric knobs lower or the same height as the old Sire knobs, I can just get the lid of my case closed with the originals !
Yes, I know... my post... as I said, I paid quite a bit more than $15 for the Sadowsky-style knobs I put on my V7... like, three times that much. I was wondering not where I can get knobs of the kind and price I bought previously, of which I am aware, and which is documented in the link you shared to my post, but where a set of metal black knobs can be had for the low low price of $15.
The new concentrics I put on are lower in height than the V7's stock knobs by a little bit. My new ones are nice knobs, but I think maybe they can be found somewhere for less than I paid. I know it seems absurd to put $50 worth of knobs on a $400 bass, and it is....but... well... I like them, and the quality of the bass, if not the price of it, justifies it.
I spent that much or more on my QParts knobs. There are cheaper available, but not as pretty.
Hi. One mans' flowers are another mans weeds. I own a P7 with a V7 on the way. I ordered 10 concentric black knob sets from ebay from a seller selling them cheaper in bulk. The same with the individual knobs - I found a seller again selling in bulk - multiples - 12 of them. I will use the rest of them on other basses I have or in the future (the V7), or will sell them to my friends.. The total amount was higher, but the cost of those knobs I put on my P7 came out to under $15. I am sure those sellers are still on ebay selling multiples cheaper. I only ordered them about 3 weeks ago. They are not fancy ones but look nice to me, They have a nice shiny black coating and a good gripping surface. There was a plastic sleeve that the control shaft fits into that easily falls out on some of them, but once you tighten the set screw, all is fine. I was surprised to find set screw knobs that cheap and had reservations about what I would get, but all went well in the end. I like them. They are about the same height as the stock knobs, but wider (and SHINY). I build guitars and basses as a hobby, so I think in multiples to save money when ordering online especially.
