I don't understand the recent pot failures...something going on with manufacturing or guys are just yanking too hard initially,instead slowly wiggling them? I don't know
Since I got the bass, I have been less than enthused with the knobs & pots. I changed out the knobs to metal knobs the second week I got the bass. I had a drum land on the vol/tone concentric knob, when the bass was on a stand; and the shaft was bent beyond repair. I took the bass to my guitar tech. to replace the pot with CTS, and asked him to go ahead and replace the other pots with CTS. He was able to replace both the vol./tone & blend pots, but the others are attached to the PC board, and made an easy swap-out too difficult.
I doubt a CTS pot would stand up much better to a drum falling on it - they're not exactly designed for that level of abuse. I understand stuff happens. Doesn't make it the equipment's fault.
I am guessing the "Big News" is the M7. A five string M series. It was mentioned on the Sire blog a few weeks ago that a M7 5string was coming very soon.
the mid treble and bass pots are soldered to the PC board ... in this days i want dissolder them and change them without solder to the PC board ... I will connect the cables directly from the pots to the board ... like all electronics in the market... regarding the knobs, some are hard to remove ... with a flat screwdriver must leverage kindly
Got my V7 ash tobacco last week. It's a very good instrument for the price, I'm happy I got into the general internet hype about them.
It feels and plays on a higher level than a Squier Deluxe V and a MiM Jazz Deluxe, talking about active Jazz basses at similar price. Low B is pretty tight also.
Mine came almost set up correctly straight out of the box (just had to set the intonation screws a little bit).
The Preamp seems very transparent to me.. with flat EQ it sounds the same as in passive mode. Did someone try if it works without batteries? I did not yet, but I guess it does.
Anyway, It really can be considered a game changer to me, setting up new standards. Hope they keep going this way.

My UPS confirmation e-mail stated I was initially set for Monday delivery, but then UPS udated their tracking info & it got pushed back a day - so now I'm looking at Tuesday.
Maybe because of the Holiday busy season for them or who knows - but I've waited this long, I can surely make it one more day. No worries here.

Could be weather related?
Probably so - Colorado got hit hard with snow and Sire Guitars is shipping from CA - I imagine that might slow things down on its way to the Central/Eastern states.
I agree, soldering pots to the board is cost efficient, but maintenance / modification unfriendly. But efficiency in manufacturing is one of the main reasons they can charge so little. Tough trade off to have to make. Removing pots from the board, if there is adequate room, is as easy as clipping the old pots' leads, and soldering wires from there to the new pots. Doable unless it's really, really tight.
Mine too, though the M3 came with strings on top. I think for a while they were shipping 4 strings mounted on top and 5s thru? Or maybe the reverse. Hope they're all thru now.

The hype is real. I don't know what kind of magic they are using but you sure get a whole lot of bass for little cash. Right when I opened the box I was stunned by the beauty and quality of the fit and finish. To be honest I was still a little skeptical up to the point of delivery but once that box was open my hopes were confirmed.
If you are currently waiting on an order you are in for a treat. If you are looking to order plan for atleast two weeks after the original shipping date.
