The V10/P10s are also fitted with Sadowsky style black Aluminum knobs. May be they are available from Sire as replacement parts ?

Yeah the top knob on the concentrics is just a very very tight pressure fit, Be careful pulling it up, some folks have ruined their pots being too hasty. Slow and steady.

I used WD40 with a syringe to spray underneath the knobs and laid my V7 with knobs down on the table to let it soak for a few minutes. Then it was easy to remove the knobs.

Love the dark graining in the wood. Two of the knobs on the V7 are staked knobs, were did you find these?

Are those anti vampire "stake" knobs??

Will the Sire preamp run well on a single 9V battery? Not being cheap, just wanna know in case of emergency.

Don't know, but wouldn't you need two batteries to complete the circuit?
Even if one was dead, it still may need to be in place...
Not sure about that...
Any electrical experts out there to chime in?

I tried this recently with my V7. With only one 9 volt, the preamp did not function in active mode. Worked fine in passive mode.

Make sure to apply the pull off force equally on both sides of the knobs. Otherwise you might damage the pots. I used two tea spoons as levers underneath the knobs.
