Anyone have experience with the M7 5-string Fretless?

Can any V7 or V8 owners tell me if the P/Us are hum cancelling? I know the bridge P/U on the P7 or P8 is him canceling.

Loved the tone from the P7 I played at GC. But wonder if the V would be a bit brighter but really liked the bridge PU tone on the P7. Hoping for a similar tone from the V with him cancelling. Trying to decide between the two. I know…get both! Lol

Thanks!

I don’t think they are, but in most instances it doesn’t matter.

If you run both pickups evenly you’ll eliminate nearly all hum. When running the preamp, you’ll eliminate any hum that might be left over. I always run my pickups up the middle. But I will play some active and passive and hear no hum.

Gonna piggyback off 3bc’s post, but these Sire basses are more than just good bang for the buck, they’re actually incredibly solid workhorse gigging basses. I’ve had some high end stuff over the years and I don’t see a need to upgrade any component of my V5. I find myself picking it up more than my Fender at more than double the price. It’s cured my bass GAS.

New member & new bass player. Just bought my first "new" bass----Sire V7 2nd Gen. Great looking bass and, overall I'm very happy. With that said, I wanted input in whether blemishes in pictures attached should be expected on a new item? These aren't the biggest problems in the world...but strike me as odd on a new instrument. Thoughts?

Write an email to Mariano at [email protected] and send him the photos. He may send you a new plate. Their customer service has been very good in my experience.

Mine had 2 layers of plastic film on the pick guard, looked similar to yours until I peeled it off.

I contacted Sire about the M7 Fretless 5 string and was told "The current estimated time for completion is 4 to 5 months after you place the order."

I'm currently looking at Ibanez fretless fives as well, that's a bit of a wait.

Thomann has a M7 5 string FL in TBL available, just saying...

Edit: And then there's an Ash TBK model at Andertons:
