Well my V7 went in for tweaks and setup today. I am so fortunate to have one of the best luthiers in the country located about 3 miles from my home (Charlie Powers). It plays a OK now but it will play like butter when he is done. Can't wait.

I don't find mine neck dives and the way it hangs it doesn't really feel any longer I hardly notice the scale length difference - less so than my other 35"ers. The first fret position doesn't really feel longer or like reaching.

I have a new M7 as of June 2017. No neck dive as far as I can tell. I do, however, have a 4" Italia strap that is immovable. Awesome strap!
The bass is so easy to play, my 1980 G&L L2000 is getting lonely.

bholder has this about right, IMO... the body is smaller, the neck seems to fold into the body closer to your body center than it would if it were a jazz-style, and so the neck/nut isn't too far out, reach-wise... you may slightly notice the extra inch of scale at first in the spacing fret-to-fret at the lowest fret or two, but will quickly forget. I think the 35" scale give s a tighter, more controllable B string since it can have a more normal-feeling tension rather than a floppy B that you sometimes feel on some basses. The added scale length has virtually no affect on its feel and playability, again IMO. The head stock is also smallish so it does not contribute to dive. Neck is thin and fast, it has a more flat-ish fret board so you can get around easily and play on the high end melodically or with chords better, while the longer scale gives you more solidness on the low end.

Does anybody know the total length of the m7? Looking for a suitable case...

Just got one, dig it a lot. I'd like to change the strings on it, but I'm not sure what size it shipped with, and want to stick with the current size. Does anyone know?

J sound I roll the pup slightly towards the bridge and leave the pre flat. Ray sound I solo bridge pup and punch the low mids and a bit of bass on the pre. P sound I solo the neck pup and punch the mids to taste.

That kit is fine. Theres no sire specific kit. Just wipe it down every so often and ur good. Also email sire we cant answer you about the color options. Thats whats listed on their website so thAts whats availible.

What's the string spacing on the m7 5st? Shopping for a 5 string, looking at one of these and also the trbx505. Anyone with experience of both?

Yeah, they definitely don't seem to be everyone's "flavor", though I'm still loving mine. Need to play it more. Need to play everything more though. Pesky work & real life, sigh.
